​#About Sekmai Tournament 2022

The National Convention 2022 (abbreviated as "#Sekmai Convention 2022"), which considers sexual minority and medical care, welfare, and education, will be held from January 28th (Fri) to 30th (Sun) and February 4th (Fri) to 6th, 2022. It will be held online on Sunday.

This competition is a competition to think about how to make each social resource easy to use for all in the medical, welfare, and educational settings.

Where and what are sexual minorities in trouble? What is the current status of efforts in the field of medical care, welfare, and education? What are the difficulties in that effort? We are planning many subcommittees from this perspective, aiming to create a wide network of experts and parties.

We have held the tournament four times so far.
2013 1st: Subtitle "Aiming to create a secure network" Approximately 250 people participated
2014 2nd: Subtitle "One more step to connect" About 300 people participated
2020 3rd: Subtitle "Expanding Connections, Deepening Practice" Approximately 400 Participants
2021 4th: Subtitle "Future practice seen from connection" Approximately 2000 participants (online)

In 2022, which is the ninth year since the first tournament, the fifth subtitle was "Creating a connection in an era of change." As the times change drastically, new technologies are developing, while various disparities that cannot be solved by technology alone are becoming apparent. Work style, lifestyle, medical care, information, wealth and education gaps, etc. How can we create and maintain human-to-human connections in such situations? We would like to make trial and error together and use it as an opportunity for new challenges.

The word LGBT has become more common in the media, and social recognition has increased. Same-sex partnerships have begun in more than 100 municipalities. But at the same time, there is a backlash to transgender.
Although the problems have become apparent, there are still difficulties in real life.
Many medical, welfare, and educators are working on the theme of sexual minority. Approximately 16 programs will be held as a gathering to share such valuable efforts and achievements of each individual and to brush up the practice to the next level. I hope that new encounters and exchanges will be born at this tournament.
