Depending on the subcommittee, there may be a time for participants to interact with each other. In addition to spoken language, participants can also use the chat feature to interact.

You can also use a sign language interpreter to communicate through sign language when deaf people and listeners interact. If the listener wants to talk to a Deaf person, tell the sign language interpreter and ask for an interpreter. A sign language interpreter is indispensable for listeners who do not understand sign language.

Depending on the subcommittee, the system on the Internet to be used differs, but there may be a chat function that allows participants to interact with each other. Please use it according to the instructions of the subcommittee organizer.

If you do not distinguish between "male" and "female" in sign language, use the expression "person" (the shape of the index finger) or "the other person" (the back of the hand facing the other person and bending all the fingers inward). I will substitute it.

■ Speak without haste with an appropriate microphone volume.

If the speaker's voice is low and the sign language interpreter cannot hear it, sign language cannot be spoken. You don't have to speak slowly, but if you speak too fast, the sign language interpreter may not be able to keep up.

■ Clear technical terms.

Speak as clearly as possible, as technical terms and proper nouns are difficult to hear.

■ "Eh? Can you say it again?" "Can you wait a moment?"

If you speak fast or have a low voice, a sign language interpreter or computer taker may confirm your remarks. Also, if the interpreter is not keeping up with the conversation, you may have to wait a bit. note that.

■ Speak one by one.

For many people who are hearing, it is possible to distinguish between multiple stories at once due to differences in voice or remarks from different directions, but it is not possible through an interpreter. If you want to speak, raise your hand and try not to speak at the same time.

■ Do not speak immediately after speaking, but speak after a while.

Sign language interpreters may have a time lag. Allow room between conversations so that the interpreter does not have to omit the content.

■ Be able to understand who is saying.

For example, raise your hand if you want to speak so that Deaf people know who is speaking. Interpreters usually tell who the statement is, such as "the moderator says this" or "that person in white clothes says this", and then interpret the content of the statement, so let's help it. ..

■ Meeting 15 minutes before

Have a brief meeting with the sign language interpreter 15 minutes before the start. Please confirm the position of the interpreter, the setup of the subcommittee, and the terms.

■ Speaking time

When sharing time on an equal footing, such as in group work, ask the person to choose whether or not he / she wants more time if he / she has a language disorder.

■ Materials
