LGBTQ people are at high risk of mental disorders because their mental health is likely to deteriorate due to social conditions. On the other hand, due to the lack of understanding of supporters, etc., they may experience harassment and difficulties when using welfare services, and may not be able to use welfare services safely. In response to this situation, the certified NPO ReBit operates Japan's first LGBTQ-friendly employment transition support office (welfare service that supports the employment of people with disabilities) (open in Tokyo in 2021, Osaka in 2023). scheduled to open). In this presentation, I will report on research and support practices regarding welfare use and career support for LGBTQ people with mental and developmental disabilities.

≪Message≫

I myself am transgender and have developmental disabilities, and I am one of those people who felt that there was no place where both parties could feel safe and consulted. We hope that by thinking beyond sectors such as welfare, medical care, government, companies, schools, and people with disabilities, welfare services that can be used safely by LGBTQ people with mental and developmental disabilities will spread throughout the country.
